Can you please state your 9 full name for the record. 10 A. Peter J. Sleight, S-l-e-i-g-h-t. 11 Q. And you're currently employed with the Dublin 12 Police Department; is that right? 13 A. That's correct. 14 Q. And how long have you been employed there? 15 A. Over 32 years. 16 Q. And has your time there all been as a police 17 officer? 18 A. Yes. 19 Q. Okay. What is your current rank? 20 A. Patrolman. 21 Q. And how long have you been a patrolman? 22 A. 32 years. 23 Q. And in 2001 can you tell me the area in which 24 you patrolled? 25 A. I was assigned to the southern, which is 4 1 southern police district. But I'm a solo or motorcycle 2 officer, and we actually go all over the city. 3 Q. How long have you been riding motorcycles for 4 both business and personally? 5 A. Business and everything? 6 Q. Yes. 7 A. Since I was 14. 8 Q. Okay. 9 A. I'm 57, so it's been a while. 10 Q. Have you ever served in the military? 11 A. Yes. 12 Q. Which branch? 13 A. Navy. 14 Q. And when was your service? 15 A. '66 to '70. 16 Q. What was your rank in the military, the 17 highest rank? 18 A. Petty Officer Third Class. 19 Q. When did you complete the Police Academy? 20 A. It would be '33 I think is when I completed 21 the Police Academy. 22 Q. Which academy did you attend? 23 A. Livermore. 24 Q. Other than the Police Academy, have you had 25 any other formal education? 5 1 A. Yes. 2 Q. What was that? 3 A. I have a BA at Sacramento State College. 4 Q. And what is that in? 5 A. Administration Criminal Justice. 6 Q. When did you receive that? 7 A. I don't recall. 8 Q. Was it before or after the Police Academy? 9 A. It was after. I did this when it was -- after 10 I joined the Police Department. 11 Q. All right. Any other degrees that you hold? 12 A. No. 13 MS. GARCIA: Okay. That's my handwriting. 20 Q. Do you have any training in accident 21 reconstruction? 22 A. Yes. 23 MS. It's my certification from the Police Academy. 5 Q. Do you have any training in accident 6 investigation? 7 A. Yes. 8 Q. All right. What kind of training in 9 investigation? 10 A. I took accident investigation at Contra Costa 11 College; I took the POST-certified basic course around 12 1974; and then I took an intermediate and advanced 13 accident investigation somewhere in the '80s. 14 Q. Where did you do that? 15 A. Or maybe the '90s. I can't remember. 16 Q. Where was that class held? 17 A. Concord, the advanced. 18 Q. Did you receive any certificates? 19 A. I'm sure I did. 20 Q. You don't recall specifically? 21 A. I have certificates. I don't have them with 22 me. I don't pin them on my wall. 23 Q. Fair enough. Any other training in 24 investigation, either field training or formal training? 25 A. In accident investigations? 7 1 Q. Yes. 2 A. No. 3 Q.
